ACCIDENT RECONSTRUCTION SPECIALIST

When investigating the circumstances surrounding an automobile accident, there are often as many versions of what took place, as there are individuals involved in or viewing the events.  To sort out the facts, developing and reconstructing the accident's occurrence is necessary.

Witnesses or other pertinent individuals are located and statementized and police representatives are interviewed.  Determination of the possession of automobile insurance is made.  Photographs, diagrams, and measurements of physical damages and accident scenes are obtained.  Special considerations such as pedestrian involvement, blood alcohol levels, and highway design are analyzed as contributing factors.

BACKGROUND  --  ASSET CHECK

PREMISES LIABILITY

In today's world of escalating medical costs and failing businesses, insurance coverage is frequently insufficient to compensate a client's loss.  Therefore, the determination of personal and/or business assets on which a judgment can be obtained and collected is necessary.

Toward this end, background and asset checks are run to determine whether the individual is employed and if so, the salary.  An asset check on a business identifies whether the business and its principals are operative and solvent, and if real or personal property, investments, and bank accounts exist.

In the Washington metropolitan area, homes, apartments, and office buildings vary from modern and newly constructed to aged and decaying structures. Many of these facilities, both residential and commercial, present hazardous conditions to the tenants and the public. Lack of proper maintenance and upkeep can result in accidents including malfunctioning equipment and damaged or improperly maintained carpet, stairs, handrails, floors, ceilings and elevators.

In disputes between the landlord and the tenant, the owners and the management of the involved property are identified. Background information is developed as to how and why the event took place, and the appropriate government agencies having records of violations are contacted. Determination is made of whether, and by whom, notice has been given to the responsible parties of such hazardous conditions.

ASSAULT  --  RAPE
clear
CRIMINAL

Safety for tenants, employees, and invited guests should be the primary concern of all business and property owners, managers, and employers; however, proper security is not always offered or maintained.

Injuries resulting from assault and rape can require extensive investigation. The facts determined provide valuable tools when handling claims from such events. The owners, management, employees and security personnel of an apartment complex, an office building or a commercial establishment are identified and background information is gathered concerning the employees responsible for security. Any previous or similar occurrences at the site are researched to determine the level of security maintained and the necessity for such security.

A thorough investigation may be the client's best or only means of defense. Adverse witness and/or police allegations can be negated through knowledge of the physical environment. The site of the crime, and thereby the means by which it is alleged to have been committed, should be viewed. Witnesses are located and statementized and the personal and/or criminal background of these individuals is determined.

JOB SITE ACCIDENT

Our modern way of life has come a long way considering the everyday products which are used. These range from the child's toy to a piece of construction equipment to sophisticated electrical components. When these products cause injury, financial loss, or property damage, the designer, manufacturer, owner, sales or maintenance representative, and any other potential defendants must be identified. The past history and related problems of the product in question along with the circumstances leading to the injury at hand are ascertained. The faulty product is located and taken into possession or, as circumstances dictate, is photographed in situs.

Accidents and injuries on the job site are common and may initially appear to be only a Worker's Compensation matter; however, this is not always the case. Negligence can result from malfunctioning, improperly designed, or poorly maintained pieces of equipment or materials, and from faulty or improperly constructed buildings, whether completed or under construction.

An investigation into such accidents provides the background information necessary for determining whether or not there is a third party responsible for the accident. In such cases the owner, designer, builder, general/sub-contractor, or maintenance contractor are identified.
